Two-time Dancing With the Stars champion Cheryl Burke recently made a passing comment about being The Bachelorette, but she wasn’t kidding. She hasn’t dated anyone in two years and she’s ready to stop being single.

Cheryl was at the 2012 NHL Awards on Wednesday and she talked more about being ABC’s next rose-giver, after Emily Maynard.

"My dating record hasn't been great the past couple of years so if I have a chance to go on [The Bachelorette] I will," Cheryl, 28, told People. "It would be fun to have a pool of guys around you and getting to know someone. I think if I had people setting me up with different guys I think it would be easier for me to meet someone to date."

You’d never think it with all the sexy dancing she does for a living, but Cheryl sees herself as a kind of shy wallflower. When People reminded her that she’s often surrounded by hot single guys — like that night at the NHL Awards — Cheryl said "I'll be standing a corner, not approaching anybody. I'm that girl."

The last time Cheryl mentioned being The Bachelorette, DWTS fans seemed to support the idea. But Emily’s Bachelorette Season 8 is still airing right now, so the earliest Cheryl would date 25 guys would be this time next year. By then she may have found her own boyfriend. (We hear Johnny Depp is single...)
