Jaleel White was the first contestant to dance on last night’s Dancing With the Stars Season 14, Season 14, Week 5: Performance. But just because Sherri Shepherd and Val Chmerkovskiy got booted after dancing first last week doesn’t mean Jaleel is worried about the same fate tonight.

Jaleel spoke to Wetpaint Entertainment in an exclusive interview about his expectations for tonight’s dance duel, what really happened between him and Kym Johnson, and all the crazy overscoring and underscoring going on this season.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Who do you think is going home tonight?
Jaleel White: Honestly I really don’t know. I’m speaking from the heart right now. I cannot get a read at all on the scores. The scores are like an earthquake Richter scale. They are not designed to make any sense to use, but I guess they’re designed to create emotions within the viewers. So the thing that I’ve really been pulling from is the audience, I almost feel protected by the fact that I’ve performed in front of so many audiences in my life. And how well I can get my dance in my muscle memory in a five day span. My hips for last night didn’t really click for me until Saturday. So the fact that they even said anything about my hips really meant a lot, I was going to throw my hip right out of its joint to make sure they were where they’re supposed to be.

Do you think the judges are underscoring and overscoring this season?
I’ve never watched the show in the past so all I can go on is what other people are saying, and what I’m feeling. I definitely feel like people are being underscored, and even overscored. It just hurts when you see somebody else out there whose dance is amazing and then they get underscored and they get an apology the next week. I’m like don’t give me an apology, boost the score! Go back and change the score, I’ve never seen that in the history of a competition.

I have to say this, I haven’t whined about anything on this show. I’m not going to whine about the media, and how they deceive the show and try to create crazy stories whether it’s with William Levy or me or whomever. I haven’t whined about any injuries. And look, we’ve all been banged up a little bit. I’m an athlete, so if you step on the floor to play, you’re there to win. And we don’t talk about what hangnail might have been dragging when you were pulling your foot across the floor. We don’t talk about it. So I haven’t played that way, I’m trying to play the game straight-up. I can’t thank the fans enough because it’s them who are really making this a positive experience.

How are you preparing for the Dance Duel?
We definitely prepared for the dance duel. Certain people are at an advantage because the dance duel is a dance they’ve already done, so all they have to do is take a segment from their dance. So we are among three couples that have not done the Cha Cha, and the dance duel will be the cha cha. So that kind of puts us at a disadvantage. As far as the bottom two thing is concerned. Again, I don’t have a read on it. I guess that’s just the way the show goes, but I don’t have a read on it. Realistically I guess I could be in the dance duel tonight. More importantly for me, I gotta prepare my mind. I don’t think you want to be caught off guard to the degree that, you just go out there and you have nothing to present at all. That, I know, will not be us. How sharp and crisp it is, I have no idea. I literally just learned our dance this morning.

Why didn’t the DWTS producers show any part of the alleged fight between you, Kym Johnson, and Mark Ballas?
Maybe there was nothing to show. Let’s just say, when it comes to this show, if they have it, they show it. Maria Menounos fell on her face today, I saw it at the studio, I was there when it happened, and we all knew, that would be in her package. When things like that happen at the studio, they show it. What was reported between Kym and I, I really feel was more of a pile-on for the week that I was having thanks to what I’m dealing with personally with my ex. I even posted some pictures up on my Twitter page. Kym’s actually fallen on me in a much worse situation than that. And it garnered nothing but laughs. These pictures tell the whole story. This happened in rehearsals last week.

Who do you think the rumored DWTS Season 14 romance is between?
I have no idea. There’s a lot of flirting going on, I’ll say that. There’s a whole lot of flirting going on. It’s a dance culture thing too. There’s a lot of touching. There’s a lot of immediate getting comfortable with people. Kym and I are grinding on each other every day, touching on each other every day. In my first Foxtrot move, we had a move that we called the Sneaky Sneak, because I literally reach around her and I grab the sides of her boobs to spin her around. And she wanted my hand on the side of her boob so she knew that it was that far around. And she didn’t have a problem with it, she didn’t care. People are in the room changing their clothes right in front of each other almost like a runway show with models in the back. It’s just a very free atmosphere. So I can only imagine that the hookups are taking place.

Make sure to check out Jaleel's new competition show Total Blackout, which premieres on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SyFy.

Find out who gets sent home on DWTS tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
