Don’t get too excited, all you people who have been dying for Dancing With the Stars to replace the judges. It’s possible that’s exactly what executive producer Conrad Green was telling the Television Critics Association today, but maybe not. They may not be swapping out Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba completely.
The DWTS Season 15 All-Stars cast was just announced at the live TCA event. Here’s what @TVTango just tweeted, along with a lot of other TCA notes: “DWTS EP Conrad Green says: ‘Essentially it will be the same show. There will be a few tweaks. We'll probably recalibrate judges.’ #TCAs12 [...] EP Conrad Green says there will be some weeks w double eliminations and others w no eliminations because of the elections #TCAs12.”
We’ll have to stew over the meaning of “recalibrate judges” until more word comes out. ABC released a full press release when announcing the cast and, as usual, it included this note about the show:
“Hosted by Tom Bergeron (America’s Funniest Home Videos) and Brooke Burke-Charvet (Dancing with the Stars Season Seven Champion), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba."
Do you think maybe they will replace one judge? Or not replace any of them but maybe have other past DWTS celebs occasionally guest judge in place of, or in addition to, the usual judges? They’ve had extra guest judges before.
What do you think this means? What do you hope it means?
Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
