Dancing With the Stars pro Chelsie Hightower just had her identity stolen.

As she shared on Instagram over the weekend, “Somebody hacked my twitter and facebook account wiped out my followers deleted my Facebook then somehow managed to get my credit card info as well and was charging up a storm. Moral of the story if u see this account [@chelsiehightowr] don't follow it. It's been interesting. Nightmare”

@DWTSGossip retweeted some May 5 notes from @Sheila_Roeder, who seems to be close to Chelsie: “Hey guys I've been talking to Chelsie this morning about this situation and she wants you to know she's working on getting her acct back! In the meantime the only TRUE acct she has is her instagram. It's safe to follow her here: http://instagr.am/p/KP6qjxRBay/ I'll let you know when she [f]inally has a new twitter and Facebook acct.... Whoever did this was a complete and utter dirt bag and I hope they are prosecuted!”

Agreed. Anyone who has dealt with identity theft knows how violating it feels. It also has to be frustrating from a professional perspective since DWTS celebs and pros often use social media to rally their fan bases and send out voting reminders — and tonight is the Week 8 Performance Show before Tuesday's DOUBLE elimination. Chelsie and Roshon Fegan need to be able to focus on doing their best performances, not dealing with hackers.

Stay strong, Chelsie!

UPDATE: Chelsie's Twitter account is now back up and running! "Wow things r back to normal," Chelsie tweeted."It's sad to know that somewhere in cyberspace hidden behind a computer screen, there are those who choose to terrorize innocent people with their keyboards."

Watch the next new episode of DWTS tonight, May 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
