Since it’s Guilty Pleasures Week on Dancing With the Stars, we don’t feel too guilty about checking out these juicy rumors from Us Weekly.
Us splashed DWTS Season 12 stars Kendra Wilkinson, Chelsea Kane, and Kirstie Alley on its May 2, 2011 cover with the tantalizing headline “Meltdowns! Hookups! Feuds! All the behind-the-scenes drama TV doesn’t show.”
There’s a bunch of interesting stuff inside, but our favorites nuggets involve the hookups and deets on one star’s major attitude problem.
Hooking up: The story says Kirstie, her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and his fellow pro Cheryl Burke have been hitting up L.A. clubs after shows. A source says Cheryl has become close with Kirstie & Maks because she’s “hooked up” with Maks on and off for two years. Do the ladies of the Ukraine Bachelor know that?
The story also claims Season 12’s first casualties, Mike Catherwood & Lacey Schwimmer, didn’t just lose their shot to win the Mirror Ball, they lost their respective loved ones — thanks to each other. “They started hooking up almost immediately when rehearsals began,” one DWTS insider told Us. “Lacey had a boyfriend [DJ Guthrie] but they broke up right before Week 1 of the show. Mike also had a girlfriend, but she supposedly didn’t like seeing the scantily-clad Lacey rub up against Mike as they danced. (Gee, wonder why not?) However, even though Mike & Lacey lost their pre-show loves, they are no longer seeing each other. The story claims their “fling” has already fizzled.
Most Hated: Us says the season’s Kate Gosselin is none other than…Wendy Williams! Which makes Tony Dovolani the most unfairly punished DWTS pro of all time. “She was a huge pain,” a DWTS insider told Us. “She was constantly late and never put any time in.” She also supposedly had a glam squad just for her wigs, but it was her attitude that bothered everyone most. “She would walk around saying ‘Why am I here?” a source said. “Kendra would be like, “Uh, we don’t know!” And when Kendra is questioning your attitude, you know you’re in trouble! In fact, Wendy was so tough for Tony to deal with, a pal told Us, “this season has been worse for him than when he danced with Kate Gosselin.”
Yikes! Next season, please give Tony another happy-go-lucky Melissa Rycroft/Audrina Patridge type.
