This time last year, we were just about to hear Donald Driver's name on the cast list for Dancing With the Stars Season 14, which he would go on to win with pro partner Peta Murgatroyd.

Now the football player (who turns 38 on February 2) is retiring. Early this morning, he tweeted, "After 14 years in the NFL, I have decided to retire. It’s been an amazing journey, thank you for all of your love and support! #Packer4Life.” He also added, "Can’t wait to celebrate with all the fans Feb. 6th in the Lambeau Field Atrium! A statement was also posted on the Green Bay Packers' website:

Donald Driver, the Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading receiver in receptions and yards and a member of the Super Bowl XLV championship team, will formally announce his retirement on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m., at a public event in the Lambeau Field Atrium. “I played my entire career in Green Bay and have always enjoyed a special bond with the fans,” said Driver. “I can think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization.”

We wish Donald the best in his future. If only we could all "retire" at 37, with a whole life ahead to enjoy!
