Instead of spending time with $400 bottles of wine, maybe Gilles Marini should invest that money in scented candles and yoga lessons to calm. his. fine. self. down. We love his passion about Dancing With the Stars Season 15 All-Stars — and we’ll take it every time over a shrug and a “whatever” — but he can get a little intense.

Gilles literally flew through the air at the start of his Season 15, Week 3 “Iconic Dances” Tango, but he got a little too into the performance and the judges said he was a bit “wobbly.” Gilles seemed to agree and punished himself behind the scenes to the point that Brooke Burke-Charvet even commented on it.

He and Peta Murgatroyd ended up with a score of 25.5, which tied them with three other couples in the middle of the pack. Gilles told People he was so sure he’d be eliminated on Tuesday that he needed a little liquid courage. "I opened a $400 bottle of wine," Gilles said. "I didn't even pour it in a glass. I drank it right from the bottle!" He said he wanted to do more and do it better. “I wanted to excel.”

Poor sexy French guy. The Season 8 runner-up really came into this taking the whole “frontrunner” idea to heart.

Moving forward, Gilles and Peta will perform a Bollywood routine on Monday — which sounds amazing — and Peta vowed they won’t let adrenaline get the best of them. “We're going to be chilled and collected,” she said. Great plan! But if Gilles feels compelled to chug more wine, just give him the cheap stuff!
