Gilles Marini may be the one to beat on Dancing With the Stars Season 15 All-Stars (as far as his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd and competitor Kym Johnson are concerned), but that doesn’t mean he’s going to just relax and let the votes start rolling in. The French fox still feels like he has a lot to prove.

We spoke to Gilles at the InTouch Weekly Angels & Icons party on September 6 in New York, and he shared his thoughts on who he considers the least experienced contestants to be, Peta’s “body shape,” and what he’ll do after he wins the Mirror Ball.

How’s it going on Dancing With the Stars?
Gilles Marini: They’re putting pressure on me, saying I’m the one to beat. No one votes for the frontrunner, ever. The truth of the matter — I’m the still one who never danced before and I can count Apolo [Anton Ohno] with me, Pamela Anderson, Kirstie Alley, Kelly Monaco. But besides these people who only danced on the show once, everybody else has massive extended dancing experience so it’s very funny that they tell that. Probably they see how much I want to do well and they’re scared of that. I’m not a lazy butt. Right now I’m only going to stay an hour here [tonight at the party] because I’m going to see Peta and we’re going to talk about dancing tomorrow. That’s it.

How’s practice going?
It’s difficult. Peta is a different body shape. When I hit her shin 30 times a day, she says, it’s okay. It’s cool. We’re doing the foxtrot [on Week 1].

What other projects are you working on?
I’m on Switched at Birth. We went up so high in percentage, the last Monday, I think it was, 39 or 40 percent increase from the last finale so that’s pretty amazing. I’m excited to have even more viewers. It’s a great show. It is a kids’ show, a teenagers’ show, an adults’ show, an everybody show.

What are you doing next?
I’m going to do DWTS hopefully to the end. After that, I’m definitely going to Bora Bora. That’s my safe haven.

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
