Herman Cain was asked to be on DWTS Season 14, but turned the offer down.
One down, the rest of the ex-GOP presidential hopefuls to go...
In December, HollywoodLife's Dancing With the Stars source said that the show was approaching Republican candidates to dance on Season 14 — with eyes specifically on Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Perry. On Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution confirmed the rumor, at least when it comes to Herman Cain.
Cain's spokesperson said he had been approached to do the show — but that he turned it down.
“He can’t dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count,” Lisa Reichert, Cain’s executive assistant, joked, referencing Cain's infamous 9–9–9 tax plan.
It remains to be seen if any of the other former candidates will jump on board. Our not-exactly-scientific reader poll suggests they should all turn down DWTS. When we asked "Would you like to see a GOP politician on DWTS?" 65 percent of the vote went to "No way! Politicians don’t belong on DWTS."
This is your legacy, Tom DeLay and Bristol Palin.
