If you're watching the Dancing With the Stars Season 4 reruns on GSN, you're witnessing the rise of Julianne Hough as an entertainment force of nature. She wins that season and the next one (sorry for the spoilers, newbies!) and keeps going until she leaves the fold after Season 8.

Now Julianne's relishing the career boost she got from Footloose by starring in the upcoming Rock of Ages, alongside Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones. She's also front-and-center on red carpets alongside her boyfriend, American Idol host and all-around mogul Ryan Seacrest.

Julianne talked to Parade Magazine about what's next in her life. For example, she's loving this season of Idol but it sounds like she's not really going further with her own musical career.

"I definitely tried that avenue [music] when I finished Dancing With the Stars and it's something that I've loved to do ever since I was little,” Hough told the magazine. “I've always wanted to sing country music, but I think something was missing for me and I feel like I've gotten that connection with the film world, so I'm going to keep going with that. That's not to say I'm not going to keep writing and singing. I love it so much and I could never be without it."

What else is she working on, short and long term? "I have a lot of passion for creating. My brother [three-time DWTS champion Derek Hough] and I love to create things together, whether it's a live project or working on scripts as a team. I'm working on a few things like that. But the things that I really want to do before I die are learn a language, learn to cook, and learn to play an instrument really well. I'm still working on all three of those!"

If she wants to learn guitar, she can definitely get lessons from her brother and fellow DWTS pro Mark Ballas. Or maybe Val Chmerkovskiy can teach her the violin?
