Julianne Hough Talks DWTS, Tom Cruise and Her Harry Potter Film Role

Don’t give up hope, Dancing With the Stars fans! Two-time mirror ball champ Julianne Hough has been gone since dancing with her ex-boyfriend Chuck Wicks on DWTS Season 8, but she may return to us. Or she may not.

Derek’s little sister gave a nice little interview to Parade, where she talked about her current boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest, filming Rock of Ages with Tom Cruise and her connection to the whole Harry Potter world. Did you know she played a Gryffindor student in the first Potter film? How cool is that? She’s a major Potter fan and told Parade she actually stole the Gryffindor scarf she had on set as a memento. Jealous!

She’s Team Tom: “I never really expected to ever work with Tom Cruise, and now that I am, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s pretty unbelievable. The minute he walks on set, it’s like everybody’s so pumped and ready to work. There’s a lot of fun and we’re having a good time, but there’s no messing around. We’re here to work and it’s very inspiring. It boosts everybody’s level of commitment.”

How she and Ryan make their relationship work: “It’s great. Both of us have busy lives and busy careers and we’re both really passionate about what we do. We’re a good team. I think when you are both that way and you are in a good relationship, you make it work no matter what.”

Will she return to DWTS or not? “You never know — maybe. I would love to go back to one of the results shows where they bring back people to dance and maybe get to dance with my brother again. I’m dancing here and there. It’s hard because my path has changed a little bit, but I dance a little bit in Rock of Ages, so I’m still rockin’ and rollin’.”
