Now it's personal. Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani took the gloves off when talking about the Dancing with the Stars' judges' "mean" comments on their Foxtrot for this week's Movie Night.

"I completely bit my tongue tonight," Tony said. "I don't think I've ever heard the judges be as mean as they were just now." Tony said he did say something to host Tom Bergeron when Bruno Tonioli spoke his comments — including that Kate was "catatonic" and Tony would've gotten more life out of a dress on a coat hanger. "I turned around to Tom and said that was mean," Tony said. "I couldn't help myself, it just came out. And Tom said yes, that is cruel."

Tony said he didn't understand the comments. They both said Kate is improving and even if the judges don't see a breakthrough, for Kate "it's a personal breakthrough." Tony said "I saw a spark in her eyes that I hadn't seen so far." Tony said the judges are supposed to be encouraging the dancers, not destroying them. Tony even told Kate, "It feels like here comes our scheduled beating."

Kate was asked if the judges' comments had encouraged her to really go for it next week, if she is still on the show. "No, pretty much they've pissed me off," Kate said. "So, that might really work, actually. I mean, I don't know what else to say. It's destructive criticism, so maybe that'll work. I don't know. All I know is they've knocked me down again and I'm just going to get back up. I've been knocked down a lot in life and so I’m just going to keep on getting up."

Here's the thing, Kate Haters: Even if Kate is a terrible dancer and plays the "Poor Me" card too often, the judges were so harsh last night she might end up skating by on sympathy votes. Part of a vast rhinestone-wing conspiracy to keep her around for ratings? Let's discuss in the comments below.
