Kathy Griffin Attempts to Insult Bristol Palin and Fails

Wondering why Bristol Palin made it so far on Dancing with the Stars last season? Look no further than her massive fan support, something Kathy Griffin learned first-hand over the weekend. The controversial comedienne hosted VH1 Divas Salute the Troops and made a crack about the DWTS finalist that didn't go over too well.

During her monologue, Griffin joked that Bristol gained 30 pounds a week during her Dancing with the Stars run and was like "The White Precious." Not cool. The assembled troops booed her loudly, something Griffin owned by asking them to boo louder. Chanted Griffin: "War is hell, war is hell."

Her next joke, about Jersey Shore, seemed to get the crowd back on her side. Watch the video below.
