Welcome to Dancing With the Lawsuits!

Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin competed together on Dancing With the Stars Season 11. We thought it was weird when they announced they would be living together in L.A. — along with Kyle's brother Christopher and Bristol's son Tripp — for a reality TV show. But things seemed to be going well in September 2011, when Kyle told Wetpaint Entertainment, “Tripp is the man. He’s just such a good kid. I think one thing that’s really great is that people are going to be able to see Tripp, how he really is and see him grow up in front of their eyes. It’s going to be cool.”

Well, people are getting a chance to see Tripp grow up, just without the Masseys, since their show is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp just premiered on Lifetime. Suspicious? The Masseys think so.

According to E! News, Kyle, Christopher and their mom Angela have sued the producers of Bristol's show, saying they came up with the idea for their own reality TV show and started shooting it, only to be cut out and not compensated.

"It is unfortunate that after months of trying to resolve this matter the professional way, we were left with no other course of action than to take legal action to protect ourselves," Angela Massey said in a statement. "If you read the entire complaint, and particularly pages 8-11, you will see how we created the show, registered the show and did all the leg work to bring this idea to TV and to the defendants, who stole our concept."

Bristol was not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, E! notes, so it's possible there's no real personal bad blood between the DWTS stars. However, the Massey clan reportedly wants damages and "a permanent injunction against the producers from profiting on what they claim was their idea."

Sounds like this “Tripp” is far from over...
