Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars hasn't even started yet, and we already miss fan favorite pro Louis van Amstel.
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Louie shut down the fans who have criticized ABC for casting Chaz Bono. "I don't think it's very shocking," the pro said of the casting decision. "The world is opening up," he added, pointing out that if Chaz himself isn't making a big deal of his transgendered status, then everyone else can just leave it alone too, thank you very much.
Louis wasn't afraid to take on all the haters, calling out people who think openly gay Carson Kressley is too flamboyant, when really, he's just being Carson. Even Nancy Grace gets some love from Louie: "Nancy Grace is doing her job. She's a prosecutor, and yeah, she's bang, bang, bang."
True to his message that DWTS is about bringing out the best in the stars, Louis expressed hope that the show will provide room for personal growth for stars like Chaz and Nancy, and encouraged everyone to judge based on their dancing and personality in the ballroom, not preconceived notions.
