Whatever happens to Maksim Chmerkovskiy in 2012, we hope Sir Sleep always stays at his side. The adorable tweeting English bulldog is a good influence on everyone — including his passionate, occasionally hot-tempered parents, Dancing With the Stars pros Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Maks and several friends are preparing to celebrate his 32nd birthday with a dance showcase on January 27 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. In a recent interview with Kaptur, Maks talked about the event and his action-packed 2011. He also discussed another breakout star of the year, Sir Sleep himself.
“Sir Sleep is our baby,” Maks explained. “Sleep is truly a character on his own. He’s so lovable. Having him around lightens up all of our moods. The thing about Sir Sleep is....he always reminds us all that no matter how fast the rest of life is moving, some things will never change."
In fact, Sir Sleep is so important to Maks, he's part of the dancing pro's ideal life. "My ideal fairy tale ending isn’t this grand story of my life." Maks admitted. "In my fairy tale, there is just a big house with a backyard, tons of family and friends, smiles, kids running around, and there is Sir Sleep right there next to me too.”
