On last night’s Dancing With the Stars Season 14 Semifinals (Season 14, Week 9: Performance), Maria Menounos looked like she was shaking and trembling after her first dance with pro partner Derek Hough.

While waiting for the judges’ comments, she had to say, “What?” twice, because she was filled with so much nervous energy. So how did she even get through the evening?

In a post-show interview with Zap2It, Maria revealed that her fans’ tweets saved her from completely losing it on such a pressure-filled night. "Literally someone tweeted this to me this morning and I saw it, printed it and put on my phone, here's what it says: ‘Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that is true strength’.”

She also pointed to another tweet that she says inspired her: “Then there was a woman who [sent] me a picture of her daughter praying. She said, ‘My daughter was praying and giving you well wishes.’ I was like alright come on, I have to do this. My fans are amazing. They have no idea how much it helps, the Twitter fans and the people voting and then your friends to come to the audience."

Wow. So the next time you feel like tweeting at Maria, now you know she’s reading every word!

Watch the next new episode of DWTS tonight, May 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
