A back injury might just keep Mark Ballas off the ballroom floor this week, according to a blog post the dancer wrote for USA Today.
Mark said he sustained the injury during a routine. "While trying a lift, I compressed two discs in my lower back and could hardly move for two days. The timing couldn't be worse, being that we have to know four dances this week even though we will only be performing two."
As of Saturday night when Ballas wrote the blog post, he was still sidelined. He did say that Henry Byalikov — who he called a "godsend" — stepped in to help Aly Raisman with the routines for this week, including the salsa, which is their solo dance this week.
But Mark also revealed that Henry might just have to fill in for him during Monday night's "Latin Night" show, if he isn't cleared to perform.
Whether he performs Monday night or not, there is good news!
"Good news is, I got my MRI results back and there is no damage to my spine or nerves, and the pain I am enduring is only muscular," Mark said. "The muscles are spasming and will take a few days (or weeks) to calm down."
"I'm really hoping to be out there shaking it with Aly on Monday night so send me your good vibes y'all.."
You want good vibes, Mark? You've got 'em!
