For most Dancing With the Stars pros, the summer break between seasons means traveling the country — and sometimes the rest of the world — for various dance shows and benefits. The best part for fans is the chance to have the pros come to you. So if you’re going to be in the Cleveland, Ohio area mid-June, you’re in luck, ‘cause you may get to meet Tristan MacManus and Karina Smirnoff.
Our favorite Irish pro and the Ukrainian winner of DWTS Season 13 are joining forces for A Dancer’s Story on Saturday, June 16, at 7:30 p.m. at The Breen Center for the Performing Arts in Cleveland.
The show will feature Tristan and Karina alongside local performers and So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Maria Torres to share the story of a dancer’s life as told from the perspective of a lifelong lover of the art. According to a press release about the event, “As the narrator tells his story, he will begin to remember the highlights of his vast experience expressed through dance. The dancer’s memories will take the audience on a journey spanning forty years and include a variety of dance styles such as Ballet, Contemporary, Cha Cha, Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Theater Arts and more.” Proceeds from the event will benefit Guidestone, a Northeast Ohio based non-profit organization serving children and families in need.
Tickets range from $75 to $125 for VIPs. There will be a special after party and meet and greet with Karina and Tristan after the show at La Strada. Visit www.adancersstory.com for tickets and details.
