There are some good things about being eliminated from Dancing With the Stars All-Stars. After her Week 8 departure with Gilles Marini, Peta Murgatroyd got to visit some friends in New York and actually eat some real food — including a bagel with cream cheese, gelato and pizza.

But, she wrote in her People.com blog, there was obviously a lot of disappointment. It was "heartbreaking" because she and Gilles had ideas for this coming Week 9 Semifinals, and now it's not happening.

"Gilles really wanted to win badly and he was a bit devastated that he got cut," Peta wrote. "But he's cool with it now. He's okay. I don't think he expected it. He worked really hard and he's the type of person who believes if you work hard, you get results. But it's not always the case with this TV show."

Peta said she and Gilles bonded and she became close with him and his family. "Gilles had the talent to make it to that final. He is an absolutely amazing dancer. But the show is about votes, and that's what really killed us in the end."

Yeah, it probably was more the votes than the swing dance marathon, which is where Gilles put the blame. It's easier to say that than to turn to the viewers and ask why they voted for another couple over you. For what it's worth, we miss you already, Gilles and Peta!
