Really?! Donald and Peta’s DWTS Finals Argentine Tango Still Can’t Get a 10 from Len
How fitting that Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd danced their Dancing With the Stars Season 14, Finals Week Argentine Tango to a song called “They,” featuring lyrics like this:
And I'm sorry, so sorry
I'm sorry it's like this
I'm sorry, so sorry
I'm sorry we do this
And it's ironic too
'Cause what we tend to do
Is act on what they say
And then it is that way
That song was tailor-made for Len Goodman’s latest lack of a 10 for Donald and Peta. Granted, when they first danced this routine on Week 5, he gave them an 8, but the other judges both saw 10s in the new, improved Argentine Tango, so why not Len?
Bruno Tonioli said Donald had been very clever in his changes from the original Argentine Tango. He went for subtle and intimate, small in the details but with strong storytelling. Carrie Ann Inaba said she loved their routine the first time and she loved it again. She wouldn’t say she saw more content but there was a new crispness to all the moves and a lot more light and shade. Len said it did have far more content. As always the lifts were great. But here’s the issue: “For me it was a tad careful,” Len said. He wanted Donald to come at it a bit stronger, but he said it was a vast improvement over last time.
But not so vast that he was willing to flash Donald a 10. Oh well. It’s just a shame since the other two judges’ pick routines got perfect scores and they didn’t seem any better from here. What do you think?
