Not everyone is sold on the idea of Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars expanding its format from the initial plan of a best-of-the-losers roundup, but Critics Choice Award nominee and DWTS host Tom Bergeron loves the new direction.

"I'm very excited about that," Tom told Zap2it of Season 15’s All-Stars edition, "particularly since it's now a broader canvas than had originally been discussed. At one point, there was talk of doing sort of a 'second chance' season for contestants who came close, but didn't quite get the coveted mirrorball trophy.

Then, the powers that be thought it might be more fun to open it up and even include former champions and fan favorites who might not have had a snowball's chance going in, but were always very charismatic and popular. I think that turns it into more of a celebration of the show itself, and I'm excited about that angle."

When we think of charismatic and popular dancers who may not have a snowball’s chance of winning, we immediately think of Carson Kressley — but also maybe Niecy Nash, Ty Murray, Nancy Grace (if only to bring back Tristan MacManus), Sherri Shepherd ... and do we have the strength for Cloris Leachman 2.0? Anyone for a Crazy Cloris & Corky Ballas reunion?
