He’s kidding. And yet...

It’s basically become a running joke how Tony Dovolani tends to get, let’s call them “the least advanced” partners on Dancing With the Stars. Most of them have been lovely ladies, but they are either timid dancers, have less passionate fan bases than others, or are named Kate Gosselin.

FOX 5 Las Vegas talked to Tony about all things DWTS and the reporter said she felt sorry for him because he got the ultimate hardest partner in Season 10’s Kate.

"I can tell you how they pair me up,” Tony joked. “I mean, whoever fails the psychiatric evaluation, I tend to get them, or physical evaluation. And every once in awhile somebody slips through, like Melissa or Stacy."

Stacy Keiber, Tony’s Season 2 partner, isn’t returning for All-Stars Season 15, but Melissa Rycroft is coming back. Tony said he’d love to be re-paired with his Season 8 partner, but he still doesn’t know his fate. He did say he can't imagine Kirstie Alley being paired with anyone other than Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Tony’s best friend), since they had such great chemistry on Season 12.

He was asked if he thinks Derek Hough has it easy 'cause Derek tends to get hot partners who can already dance. "Yeah, he's America's Sweetheart," Tony said, adding, "The difference between, let's say Maks and Derek, with them girls say 'Oh, I love you!' When they see me they go 'My mom loves you!'"

Ha! The reporter said no, no. He's just the nice guy vs. Maks with his ego. We love both Tony and Maks but it’s true that Tony doesn’t seem to get as much love for his hotness as the other guys. Is it because he’s married with kids? Does that put him in a different “zone”?

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
