Was William Levy & Cheryl Burke's DWTS Finale Freestyle Too "Predictable"?

So much for Len Goodman’s good mood!

The head judge of Dancing With the Stars started the Season 14 Finals performance show giving perfect scores to William Levy & Cheryl Burke for their Cha-Cha-Cha and then Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas for their Paso Doble. Then he found his “9” paddle, which must’ve been hiding, for Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd’s Argentine Tango. That wasn’t too surprising, though, since he’s never given Donald & Peta a 10 since before their final Freestyle.

However, Len stayed grumpy after William & Cheryl’s Tango-inspired Freestyle, which got the crowd so worked up Len had to scream out his commentary. He said what William does, he does well. “I liked it,” Len said, including the changes in rhythm from Tango to Salsa. “But for me it was too predictable. All you do is shake your butt and get the women screaming.”

The crowd started to boo at that. They love the butt shaking! “I wanted more!” Len continued. “I wanted to see something different. I’m fed up with it!”

The other judges strongly disagreed. Bruno Tonioli said William & Cheryl were too devils unleashed upon the earth, into a Latin-inspired extravaganza. “Sinful but ever so good!” He gave it a 10. Carrie Ann Inaba, who also gave it a 10, danced around with happiness, saying, “That was just exactly what a Freestyle should be. It’s about breaking ground...” Len cut in with “What ground? It was a Salsa!”

At least he gave it a 9 instead of an 8 or (wince) a 7. William & Cheryl still ended the night with a near perfect total of 59 out of 60, but are you mad at Len for that one point shy of perfection?
