Selena Gomez has had a fantastic year. The Disney starlet broke out of her Wizards of Waverly Place mold with beachy raunchfest Spring Breakers, finally broke up with on-again, off-again beau Justin Bieber, and released her first solo single, “Come & Get It,” to rave reviews.

The 20-year-old songstress debuted the track at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on April 14, but her encore performance in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom was even more exciting. Though the dance troupe didn't accompany her — she brought her own crew! — the “almost tribal” feel of the song was embraced perfectly by the audience.

Selena lit up the stage during the Season 16, Week 5 results show (April 16, 2013) along with Grammy-nominated country group The Band Perry. And hey, it makes sense — not only was this her second performance on DWTS (she performed “Hit the Lights” with her band, Selena Gomez & the Scene back in 2011), but her upcoming world tour is named “Stars Dance.” Perfect fit!
