It’s getting close now! Dancing With the Stars Season 16 will premiere on Monday, March 18. The 12 couples of the spring 2013 season will be announced on Tuesday, February 26 on Good Morning America.

At this point, credible rumors have been few and far between. It’s a lot easier to point out the people who’ve said they won’t be dancing. (And it’s possible they’ll change their minds.) Here’s a roundup of some recent rumors out there of who may be in, who has said they are out, and who would love to be on the new season but for all we know they’ve never been asked.

RUMORED TO BE IN

The New York Daily News recently said Victor Ortiz has signed on for DWTS Season 16. Since it’s a very recent casting spoiler, we give it a bit more credence than the “confirmation” that was given in early December for Emily Maynard. But, yeah, Emily is still on the list until we don’t hear her name on Feb. 26.

WANTED BY DWTS

In the same Victor Ortiz article, the NY Daily News said ABC is also interested in casting Emily Maynard, plus Kourtney Kardashian, and Honey Boo Boo's newly slimmer Mama June.

DWTS loves Kardashians — Kim danced on Season 7 and Rob Kardashian was a surprise hit, taking second place on Season 13. We heard a while back that they wanted another Kardashian on the show — at one point it looked like they would go after Bruce Jenner, but maybe they’ve switched to Kourtney. But Mama June? That could get awkward, since DWTS pros Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have both said they don't want to see Honey Boo Boo or her mom on the show. Maks told Extra, “I don’t see Honey Boo Boo or any of her relatives having earned the right because I think it’s an honor to be on the show.” He also suggested that DWTS needs bigger stars in the future, and that “some, not all, of our stars have been of questionable backgrounds.” For the record, both Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy have given Bachelorette Emily the thumbs up. Maks said, “I'd love to dance with her” and Val said she’s “hot” and “great.”

WANT TO BE ON DWTS

Two of the Fierce Five gymnasts said they would love to do DWTS. "I definitely would!" said McKayla MaroneyGabrielle Douglas said the same, adding, “Definitely … I love the dynamic and being paired with a partner, having so much fun behind the scenes and backstage . . . so why not?" Jersey Shore’s Deena Nicole also wants to do DWTS, maybe with Mark BallasDina Lohan, Lindsay’s mom, wants to do the show with Maks. Miss America 2013 Mallory Hagan has said she’d love to do DWTS. Baltimore Ravens wide receiverJacoby Jones has also said he’d like to do the show. There was a rumor that Katie Holmes was looking to do the show, but her rep shot that down.

Michael DouglasLindsay LohanLance Armstrong and Ann Romney have all recently shot down the idea of doing DWTS. Some refused hard offers, others just dismissed the very idea.

IN THE NO BUT MAYBE YES CAMP

This is pure wishful thinking on our parts, but host Tom Bergeron recently said he’d like William Shatner to do the show, and Captain Kirk didn’t think it was for him … but he may relent. Same with Monty Python comedian Eric Idle, who tweeted that he turned down the show, but we’re wondering if he just wanted people to tell him he should do it. He should do it!

Dancing With the Stars 2013 premieres March 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
