Athletes! They are the bane of every other Dancing With the Stars competitor’s existence. They don’t always win, but if an Olympian or professional football player shows up, odds are good they’ll go pretty far.

So it’s no shock that sports betting site Bovada has the three athletes — also previous champions — as the remaining best bets to win DWTS Season 15 All-Stars. They give Season 8 gymnast Shawn Johnson the best odds to win, followed by Season 4 speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno, then Season 3 NFL legend Emmitt Smith. The only other champion remaining, Season 1 winner Kelly Monaco, is fifth on their list, after Season 8 runner-up Gilles Marini.

The running theory seems to be that the most likely person to win is a previous winner, especially an athletic one. It can’t hurt Shawn’s odds that she’s paired with DWTS’ only three-time pro champion, Derek Hough. However, as Zap2it noted, in recent weeks, race car driving Season 5 champ Helio Castroneves was named the odds-on favorite to win — and we saw what happened to him on Week 3. Odds are just guesses with funny numbers next to them.

Here’s Bovada’s current All-Stars odds ranking:

Shawn Johnson — 7/4
Apolo Anton Ohno — 9/4
Emmitt Smith — 7/2
Gilles Marini — 7/1
Kelly Monaco — 10/1
Melissa Rycroft — 15/1
Bristol Palin — 25/1
Sabrina Bryan — 33/1
Kirstie Alley — 50/1

Do you agree with the odds? Should anyone be moved up or down, in your opinion?
