Last night the bickering stopped being cute and started getting real on Dancing With the Stars.

Head judge Len Goodman has always been tough — hence his nickname Grumpy — and Maksim Chmerkovskiy is arguably the most outspoken pro dancer on the show. But on Season 13’s Broadway Week, Len vs. Maks came to a head and got really uncomfortable to watch. Len called out Hope Solo’s “heel leads” during her Rent-inspired Rumba. Maks got frustrated that they were being called out for heel leads when other dancers (*cough*Chaz Bono*cough*Nancy Grace*cough*) were praised for just putting in the effort

Maks made a comment that maybe it was time for Len to get out of the business. Carrie Ann Inaba thought he shouldn’t be disrespectful but Maks countered that they shouldn’t be disrespectful to all of the couples. Len ended up giving Hope and Maks a score of “6,” the same score he gave Chaz Bono.

Where do you stand on this? Was Maks right to call out the judges on their double standards or did he cross the line with his comments? Vote in our poll below.
