Dancing With The Stars

Ashly DelGrosso-Costa

Quick Facts:
Full Name: Ashly DelGrosso Costa
Dance Style: Lyrical
Nationality: American
Height: 5'3"

You could say that dancing is in Ashly DelGrosso-Costa's blood. Her mother co-owns a dance studio and her five similarly A-named sisters (Averie Michelle, Afton Skye, Autumn, Amber and Abrea Danielle — if you must know) are all dancers. This officially makes the Delgrossos that Von Trapp family of the dance world, right?

Ashly's love of ballroom dancing began as child when she started attending classes at her mother's dance studio. She studied jazz, tap, ballroom, and lyrical dancing styles and began teaching dance when she was just 16. She partnered professionally with Rick Robinson, her coach since age eleven, on the professional Latin circuit before retiring and moving on to Dancing with the Stars.

DelGrosso continues to make dancing a family affair. She and her sisters performed as a troupe in an episode of Season 3. Afton competed on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars in a pro dancer competition to win a spot as a professional in the show's ninth season, but did not make past the third week of competition.

Ashly comes from the same dance studio as Jaymz Tuaileva, Julianne Hough, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas and Jared Murillo.

DWTS Data:

Ashly makes her triumphant return to DWTS after a seven season absence. Back in Season 1, she was partnered with New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre to come in third. Ashly was not so lucky the next season when she was paired with Master P. The clumsy rapper was unmotivated during rehearsal and refused to wear dance shoes. Master P's laziness cost them — the pair stayed at the bottom of the leader board every week of compeition and recieved the lowest scores on the show ever. Somehow the couple clomped along for four weeks before being eliminated, coming in 7th place. Ashly and celebrity partner Harry Hamlin had even less luck when they were eliminated on third week of Season 3 of Dancing with the Stars, coming in ninth.

This season, she will appear with astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Let's hope she has better luck the fourth time around!

Beyond DWTS:

On October 21, 2006, DelGrosso married Mike Costa, a field producer for Dancing with the Stars. On February 20, 2007, DelGrosso announced that she and her husband were expecting their first child. As a result, she wasn't be able to perform on the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars.

Son Ammon Michael was born in 2007 and on July 24, 2009, DelGrosso gave birth to son Enoch Daniel.
