She's normally on the sidelines calling the action, but now it's time for Erin Andrews to get her head in the game!
Since joining ESPN in 2004, Erin Andrews has become one of the most well-known sports reporters in the country. Having begun her career at ESPN as a reporter for the network’s NHL coverage, Erin has served as a reporter for ESPN College Football Saturday telecasts, Saturday Primetime college basketball games, and Big Ten college basketball coverage.
In 2005, she began reporting from the sidelines of the ESPN College Football Primetime series on Thursday nights and added Major League Baseball sideline reporting to her responsibilities, including the Monday Night Baseball telecasts.
Erin has been a reporter on ESPN’s College World Series telecasts since 2005 and has worked ABC’s coverage of the Scripps National Spelling Bee as a reporter since 2008.
A native of Lewiston, Maine, Erin graduated from the University of Florida where she was a member of the Gators’ basketball dance team from 1997-2000. Old habits must die hard, because Erin will be puttin' on her dancing shoes once again for this stint.
In more serious news, Erin Andrews became the victim of some very unwelcomed camera action. On July 16, 2009, a video that was uploaded via the video sharing site, DailyMotion.com, hinted that a naked blonde woman videotaped through a hotel peephole was a popular sports personality. The next day, Andrews authorized her attorney to issue a statement verifying that she was the woman in the video, and that the video was made without her knowledge or consent. On December 15, 2009, Illinois insurance executive Michael David Barrett pleaded guilty to the interstate stalking charge and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15, 2010.
Achievements and Awards:
In 2007 and 2008, Andrews was voted "America's Sexiest Sportscaster" by Playboy magazine.
