Background:

Choreography. Flashy costumes. Shiny trophies. Ice skater Evan Lysacek and ballroom dancing sound like a match made in heaven.

The Olympic Gold Medal Winner and World Figure Skating Champion has been hitting the ice since the age of 8, when he started playing ice hockey.

A native of Naperville, IL, Evan relocated to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to train with Frank Carroll who, in addition to his Olympic and World titles, has also coached Evan to two US National Titles. Carroll helped Lysacek achieve a 4th place showing at the Torino Olympic Games in 2006. His gold-medal win on the ice in Vancouver was the first in 22 years for an American male at the Olympics. Let's hope Evan has just as much luck on the dance floor as he does on the ice!

In late spring 2010, Evan plans to tour as a member of the all-star cast of Stars on Ice. But for now, he'll be cuttin' a rug on DWTS.
