She has had a successful stage career but is best-known for her role as matriarch Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch. Though the show only aired for five seasons (1969-1974), it has never been off the air in the U.S., and currently airs in 122 countries around the world.

She also appeared as the “Today Girl” on NBC’s Today Show and was the first woman to host The Tonight Show. Today, Henderson frequently tours the country as a motivational speaker and performs her one-woman show, “All the Lives of Me… A Musical Journey.” Let’s hope she can keep her dance partner motivated!

Henderson has been a celebrity spokeswoman for Oldsmobile, Tang, Polident, Rain Soft, Pepsi Light, and Wesson Oil. While a spokesperson for Wesson Oil, she hosted a cooking show on The Nashville Network. The experiences inspired her to write a cookbook, A Little Cooking, a Little Talking and a Whole Lot of Fun.

TV Land and Entertainment Weekly selected Henderson as one of TV’s 100 Greatest Icons. Henderson’s talk show, The Florence Henderson Show, which currently airs on Retirement Living TV, was nominated for an Emmy in 2010.
