Background:
Most known for 90s sleepy elevator tunes soft rock hits like his cover of “When A Man Loves A Woman,” Bolton has focused on charity work and writing for much of the last decade. He’s performed with Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles and written songs with Bob Dylan, Ne-Yo and Lad Gaga. Bolton recently released his latest album, “One World One Love,” featuring his current single, “Murder My Heart,” which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, and is currently on a worldwide concert tour. How does he find the time to tour and to compete on DWTS?

Divorced since 1990, Bolton dated actress Nicolette Sheridan on-and-off until 2008, when they ended their engagement. He also dated Sheridan’s fellow desperate housewife Terri Hatcher in the early 90s.

Since 1993, Bolton has been working with the foundation he established, The Michael Bolton Charities, which focuses on violence against women.

Achievements and Awards:
Bolton also won a Grammy in 1990 for Best Male Pop Vocal for "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" and another in 1992 for “When A Man Loves A Woman.” He’s sold more than 53 million records. Next challenge: selling the judges on his dance moves.
