Dancing With the Stars 2013: Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy’s Week 5 Argentine Tango

Dancing With the Stars 2013 introduced a new twist with “Len’s side-by-side challenge” for Season 16, Week 5, and Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy were under even more pressure tonight. Not only were they learning an entirely new dance, but they were paired with Val’s brother, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and fellow former pro Anna Trebunskaya for the Argentine Tango.

However, they didn’t falter one bit, delivering a stellar routine that had the judges absolutely thrilled. “Next to Anna, you were as good and as strong. You were up there with the best you’ve ever had,” Bruno exclaimed. “It was like a lemon tart: sharp and tangy at the top, crisp and tasty down below,” Len added deliciously. “That was a gem of a dance — well done!” The duo scored the first 10s of the season — which Val dedicated to everyone in Boston affected by the marathon explosion tragedy — giving them with the highest score of the night: 29/30.
