Glee Music: Darren Criss Was Really Nervous for Which Song Performance?

We tend to assume that Glee star Darren Criss (Blaine) has been in the spotlight for so many years that he doesn't get nervous about performing anymore. However, there is one song in the upcoming Season 5, Episode 7: "Puppet Master," that he was freaked out about having to tackle.

Darren will be singing the Queen tune "You're My Best Friend" in the episode, and he'll have some surprising backup singers for it. "There's a Muppet puppet version of each of our Glee characters [in this episode], and they are all so cute," he tells Broadway World. "I get to do Queen's 'You're My Best Friend' with them — which was just a lot of fun to do, especially since I am such a big [Muppet] fan."

However, Darren wasn't exactly thrilled when he was initially assigned that song. "When they told me I was going to be doing ["You're My Best Friend"], I was like, 'F—k! Don't make me do that!'" Darren says.

Whoa! Who knew Darren would get so rattled? Then again, this is Freddie Mercury we're talking about, and those are no small shoes to fill.

This news appears to back up a previous report that Blaine would remain human in the episode, and that he probably has some kind of fantasy sequence where he envisions his glee pals as being made out of felt. But does this mean we won't get to see a little puppet in a tiny bowtie and hair gel? Say it ain't so!
