Earlier this year we told you about Darren Criss’s (Blaine) turn in A Great Big World’s music video for “Already Home,” and while we immediately fell in love with the endearing interpretation of the song — in which Darren and Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr play long-distance lovers — we’re even more enthused about the behind the scenes look that was just posted to the band’s Vevo page.

The newly released video detailing the making of the “Already Home” video (how meta!) features commentary from the band’s members, Ian and Chad, as well as some musings from our beloved Darren and Jessica. “I’m really excited to be a part of this,” Darren tells the cameras, later making a bird noise.

Though the music video, directed by Isaac Rentz, shows Darren and Jessica as part of a split screen, the actors actually filmed their respective parts of the music video on the same set, though, as Darren explains, they don’t interact until the very end. “We’re telling this beautiful and sad kind of story,” Jessica says. “It’s been a very great experience so much even though I’ve cried... and laughed.”

Honestly, this whole behind the scenes look is pretty great, but our favorite part is when Darren starts playing the guitar. The Glee actor is pretty much irresistible any day, but when he’s playing the guitar, all bets are off.
