David Arquette is no stranger to fatherhood — he’s already gotten his practice in with his daughter, Coco, with his ex-wife, Courteney Cox. And now that he’s expecting baby number two with girlfriend Christina McLarty, he’s a lot less stressed now that he knows how it goes.
“I know I’ve done it once so there’s not that fear that a first time parent has because you just don’t know what to expect,” David told People. “Animals across the world have babies and they know how to take care of them instinctually. Us humans get so in our heads about it all but as soon as the baby comes it is just instinct.”
True — but we have a feeling that things like perfecting the diapering technique can only come from practice.
“You have to have a lot of faith that you will be able to keep them safe and not mess them up too much,” David added.
After all, Coco’s made it to age 9, so he must be doing something right. And he loves spending time with her, even when it means taking her out of school so she can join him on location while he’s filming in Puerto Rico for his Crackle show, Cleaners.
“It’s such a great bonding experience because she gets to see what we do on the set,” David said. “It’ll be a really good time.”
Speaking of Coco, her mom, Courteney, has recently shared that she’s just about ready to be a big sister, although it was a little weird for both of them at first when they found out that David and Christina were expecting.
“She’s really excited, but at first, she was nervous, ‘cause you know, it’s a big deal,” Courteney said.
