David Beckham Named GQ’s Stylish Man of the Year

Forget Victoria Beckham — it's her husband who seems the be the "Posh" one nowadays!

At the 2013 GQ Men of the Year Awards, Us Weekly reports that David Beckham took home the trophy for Stylish Man of the Year — as attendees like Robin Thicke and Kellan Lutz looked on (perhaps enviously) from the audience.

"Like no other athlete, David Beckham represents style and fashion influence," raved José Redondo-Vega, editor-in-chief of GQ Germany. "With his trendsetting and sometimes daring appearances, he has created a bridge between the world of design, models, photographers, and the world of world-class sports, and brought glamour back to a male sport."

Yeah, that sounds about right!

David wore a crisp, fitted black suit for the occasion — over a white shirt and a thin black tie — working the red carpet with effortless cool.

But many of the 38-year-old soccer stud's most iconic fashion moments have involved far less clothing — he's undressed for countless advertisements for his bodywear line at H&M.

And the Becks has a lot more time on his hands for curating his enviable wardrobe — he retired from professional football career in May.

Here's to his second wind as a style icon!
