Former Child Star David Cassidy Sentenced to Rehab in Latest DUI Case — Report
With any luck, David Cassidy is on the path to getting happy. The former Partridge Family star and father to Arrow star Katie Cassidy has been sentenced to rehab following his second drunken driving arrest in a span of five months.
David, 63 — who sang the Partridge theme song, "C'mon Get Happy" — was sentenced this week to three months in rehab and five years of probation following his DUI arrest in January 2014, according to Us Weekly. David must also pay fines and complete a nine-month alcohol education course.
David's attorney told the court that David plans to remain in rehab for longer than just three months, as he is determined to kick his alcoholism for good. "If I take another drink, I'm going to die, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually," David said this week.
David played Keith Partridge on '70s TV show The Partridge Family and has more recently appeared on The Apprentice in 2011 and an episode of CSI last year. His daughter is Katie Cassidy, a 27-year-old actress known for Gossip Girl and Arrow. Katie herself was arrested for underage drinking at the age of 20 in 2007.
We wish David all the best.
