Aria (Lucy Hale) was the lucky winner of the evening’s first text, which came while she was waiting for her “Truth Up” Day group activity to begin. It read, “Truth hurts, sweetie. May hurt your new pal more than you. -A”. Two immediate suspects are right there in front of her: Jenna (Tammin Sursok), who appeared to be fiddling with her phone inside her bag, though it turned out to be gum — still suspicious.
Then there was Jason (Drew Van Acker), who had his back turned and definitely appeared to be looking at his phone. Is it possible Jason is “A”? And poor Caleb — surely the “pal” in question — just sits right beside her, in the dark.
The second text went to Spencer (Troian Bellisario), just as she was approaching her half-brother Jason in the quad. It read, “Don’t be scared, Spence. We’re all family here, some more than others. -A”.
This text is even more open to questions on who could have possibly sent it. The sender has to know three things: 1) Jason is related to Spencer; 2) Spencer is approaching Jason at that moment; 3) Spencer just found out.
Jason is immediately ruled out, because we have our eyes on him the whole time. There’s really only one person we can think of who would know all of those things, assuming she, like Jenna, has “eyes everywhere”: Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto).
