Gay Rights Win! Defense of Marriage Act Ruled Unconstitutional: Glee Stars React

Huge news for gay rights! On June 26, the United States Supreme Court officially ruled the Defense of Marriage Act to be unconstitutional. As a result, same-sex couples who are legally married will be entitled to the same federal protections — health insurance, Social Security, and retirement savings — as heterosexual couples.

GLAAD reported the news early Wednesday morning, adding that Prop 8 has been overturned, giving gay couples in California the right to marry. Not surprisingly, the stars of Glee instantly took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Just minutes before the announcement was made, Neil Patrick Harris, who played Will’s nemesis Bryan Ryan back in Season 1, tweeted:
