Definitive Ranking of The Singles Project Cast — Whose Dating Game Reigns Supreme?

We were intrigued when Bravo announced plans for The Singles Project, but we had no clue how addictive and engaging this would get. In just eight short weeks, viewers were introduced to six New York City singles, between their mid-20s and early-40s, who were looking for love and turning to reality TV to hopefully find “the one.”

From first dates to mega-awkward breakups, these singles — Kerry Cassidy, Lee Gause, Joey Healy, Tabasum Mir, Ericka Pittman, and Brian Trunzo — navigated the eccentric dating field that only NYC can offer. As usual, the cream rose to the top and some absolutely fizzled.

Read on for Wetpaint Entertainment’s definitive ranking of the daters from The Singles Project’s first (and hopefully not last) season!

6. Brian Trunzo

Brian’s list of dating requirements seemed to grow as the season progressed (he’s not too keen on dating white girls, isn’t a fan of Top 40, and will ridicule you for being one) and viewers (especially me and my gal pals) quickly knew Brian would end the season alone. He led the pack in terms of landing dates but couldn’t ever make a connection.

Then, in the finale, Brian committed the ultimate sin: He combined the attributes of five different women and made his version of “the perfect woman.” Dude, you realize that’s a definite no-no, right? He actually uttered the words, “I would rather die alone,” as the season came to a close and it seems as though his wish might actually come true. Sorry, you lose.

5. Tabasum Mir

Tabasum started off on shaky ground by dating barely-legal models that were clearly not on her level. Yes, they were gorgeous. No, they were not marriage material in the least. The real problem emerged when the beautiful gal revealed that she was actually 41 and not in her 30s like she’d been telling everyone. It was quite the reveal and something so silly considering just how fierce Tabasum is.

The dermatologist had her fair share of flops along her Singles Project journey and handled herself very well when confronted with Alexander (who clearly wanted to just sex her up). Tabasum shot down the foreign hunk and rebounded in the finale with the age-appropriate Vincent. We didn’t get to see these two develop beyond their Central Park date and him showing up to Tabasum’s birthday, but he did give her some meaningful jewelry for her big night and there’s lots of potential there. We love you, Tabasum, you just piqued too late.

4. Joey Healy

Joey had some ups and downs — hey, he met tons of hotties along the way — but nothing seemed to stick until the very end. He met Jack in the penultimate episode and had an adorable apple-picking date in upstate New York. Has he finally met his eyebrow soulmate? Only time will tell!

The problem we had with Joey was how things with Anthony ended up. Joey followed his heart and moved on from the stud he met during the first week but had a heated confrontation with him in a club a few weeks later. Instead of dealing with it, Joey rushed out and hopped in a cab — it was pretty ugly. We’ll never know exactly what happened, but it was sketchy. Homeboy seemed to have chemistry with all of his dates and played the BFF role for a few of the other singles, so at least he wins “Mr. Congeniality.”

3. Lee Gause

Let’s be completely honest: Lee had pretty much no game for much of the show. He went on date after date with duds or made the mistake of planning first dates around dinner at his brother’s house (seriously dude, not OK). But all of these past mistakes flew out the window when Lee finally started opening up about his feelings for Ericka. No joke, we verbally awww-ed many times throughout the season.

Fans seemed to really embrace the potential relationship between Lee and Ericka, and when he finally made the grand gesture that she rightfully deserved, he won her over. Heck, Ericka even broke up with a really nice guy to date Lee! One thing we didn’t like was how Lee seemed to have a habit of confronting Ericka in front of his/her friends and not doing so when they were spending time as a couple (and a camera). This habit came to bite him in the butt in the finale, but thankfully they were able to move past it. Lee is a good ol’ Southern boy (and a true Tar Heel), and we loved watching him.

2. Kerry Cassidy

How do we put this nicely? We weren’t the biggest fans of Kerry heading into The Singles Project. She was off-putting and seemed to only be concerned about her parents — but if there’s a “Most Improved” award to hand out, this WASPy gal deserves it 100 percent. Kerry quickly found a spark with Tripp, an artist from South Carolina, and it was love at first giggle. Kerry finally found someone that she could joke around with and awkwardly kiss after an adorable paint date. Quite the power couple, these two! The only problem? Kerry’s parents weren’t impressed with her newfound boytoy. In the season finale, the lovely couple returned to NYC stronger than ever after spending some time with Tripp’s family in SC and got Kerry’s mom’s approval. These two rode off into the sunset and will hopefully produce those beautiful-yet-rambunctious kiddos they were joking about.

Our one bone to pick with Kerry is that one random date she went on while she was dating Tripp. We applaud her being open and honest about the date with that guy and found it adorable that she couldn’t stop thinking about Tripp. The only flaw is the way she exited her date with that horrible excuse she came up with in the bathroom. That random guy didn’t deserve to get the “Lemon Law” slapped in his face so hard. Couldn’t Kerry have just finished dinner and ended the night there? Exiting during the meal was inappropriate and unfair. We love you otherwise, girl!

1. Ericka Pittman

Did you know that Beyoncé wrote “Flawless” about Ericka? Well, she didn’t, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have. We loved absolutely everything about Ericka, from her wardrobe and style to the way she handled herself on dates and in front of the camera. Seriously, we can’t say enough good things about this sophisticated lady! She seemed a bit shy to get out there and start dating at the very beginning, but thankfully she started to lighten up when she found Francesco, who definitely knew how to treat Ericka like the queen she is. Too bad she is destined to be with Lee (seriously, it’s written in the stars) and had to tell him goodbye.

As for how she handled herself with Lee, it was a lot about getting him to step up and put the moves on her. Really all she wanted was to see him give his all in wooing her. It takes a lot to take a friendship to a relationship and she was rightfully nervous to do so on national TV. Ericka and Lee seemed to be at their best when they escaped the city and went to the Hamptons to stay at the house of a “friend” (read: Diddy). All she asked from Lee was for him to treat her right, which didn’t include having his bros confront her about where she sees their relationship going. We totally understand that he wanted to get some feedback from her, but he definitely handled it the wrong way. Ericka and Lee had their first fight already and we’re excited to see where this relationship takes them! We’ll miss seeing Ericka each week, that’s for sure!
