Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 Deleted Scene: Alex Proposes to Jo! (VIDEO)

Jolex shippers might have a serious grudge against the Grey's Anatomy editors these days — seeing as a monumental moment between Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) was left on the cutting room floor during Season 10!

In the deleted scene you see below, Alex proposes to Jo! Yeah, none of that whole "we're practically married" confusion — he's actually putting a ring on it.

But don't get too bent out of shape — Alex's proposal was never part of the actual storyline. You see, this swoon-worthy scene came from Season 10, Episode 17 — "Do You Know?" — aka the episode in which Cristina imagines two possible futures.

This scene depicts a relatively small jump into a possible future. The residents — including Jo, Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton), Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer), and Shane (Gaius Charles) — are returning from their medical boards as their elder contemporaries wait to receive them in the ambulance bay.

After a fakeout moment, the residents reveal that they all passed their board exams. Stephanie pulls April (Sarah Drew) aside to genuinely thank her; Stephanie pulls Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) aside to thank them right before declaring her hatred of them (!); and Shane tells Cristina (Sandra Oh) that he turned down a job at Johns Hopkins to stay on as her protégé.

Just when the assembled party wonders where Jo is, they spot her standing by the bus, looking shocked at the sight of Alex on bended knee. She happily accepts, they kiss, and Cristina shouts, "About time, Alex!"

Alas, Jolex supporters, 'twas not to be. Maybe Season 11 will be better to us!

Grey's Anatomy Season 11 premieres Thursday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Don't miss the episode.
