In case you haven’t heard, Demi Lovato’s new book hits shelves today.

Called Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, the collection features Demi’s thoughts and the wisdom of others that have gotten the 21-year-old through her darkest days. One of her biggest pieces of advice? Go hug a bully.

“There was a time where I really resented the people who bullied me in my life,” she explains to reporter Lara Spencer of Good Morning America. “I lived with so much hate that I only ended up making myself sick.”

Demi, who has publicly battled issues of self-harm, bulimia, and bipolarism, says it was only after talking with one of the girls who bullied her that she was able to address her own anger.

“I was able to talk to her and really kind of clear up any kind of hatred or animosity toward one another,” Dems explains. “I realized she was going through things at that time that I had no idea about, just like everybody does.”

Lara points out how compassionate this is of the pop star and we couldn’t agree more. Leave it to Demi Lovato to write a book that makes us fall even more in love with her.
