Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have been friends for more than two-thirds of their lives. Theirs is a friendship first formed on the set of Barney, as Hollywood perfect as that may sound.

Since their time singing the Friendship Song with the Magical Purple Dinosaur, Selena and Demi have survived the ups and downs of being a child star including, just a few years ago, Demi’s highly publicized trip to rehab. But while Selena is often credited as the one always supporting Dems, the “Come And Get It” singer insists Demi has also been there for her during tough times (read: the Biebs).

“I think what people forget is that she’s actually been there for me, too,” Selena explained during a recent interview at KISS 108’s Jingle Ball. “We’ve been best friends since we were seven. We had a time where we did grow apart but, I mean, there’s not a single person on this planet who knows me like she does.”

Dems knows Selena so well that she “goes into my darkest place and she goes into my lightest, most incredible memories.” As if that’s not sweet enough, Selena concludes that there’s no one else like Demi and, even more touching, “there’s nothing like us” calling Dems her “sister.”

They aren’t the only Barney kids who have stayed in touch, either. Selena says she and Demi still have ties to several of their former co-stars and often reminisce about their time together on the playground. Selena even has some videos of their early acting days handy. Feel free to pass those along, Selena! So far we’ve only seen the one.
