In our books, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez go together like peanut butter and jelly. They’ve been together since childhood and despite careers that could seem like a reboot of Britney Spears vs. Christina Aguilera, they’ve always seemed to be the best of buds. So you can understand our concern when Dems unfollowed Selena on Twitter last month.
At the time, we wondered if Dems unfollowing and subsequent meme about “swimming away from bulls—t” might have something to do with Selena’s rekindled romance with Justin Bieber (talk about a guy who just can’t make good with the girlfriends). But since things have seemed to cool between Selena and the Biebs in recent weeks, are Demi and her fellow Disney princess back to normal? Doesn’t sound like it based on the “Neon Lights” singer’s chat with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
While playing Andy’s infamous “Plead the Fifth,” in which the Bravo godfather gets to ask celebs the most probing of questions all in the name of a fun game, he quizzed Demi about why she unfollowed Selena. Watch the video above to hear what she had to say. Here’s a hint: Dems says sometimes “people grow apart.” Uh-oh. That doesn’t sound so good.
Watch the video to see what Demi had to tell Andy and then head to the comments to tell us how you things stand between Dems and Selena.
