Dennis Rodman Enters Rehab for Alcohol Addiction — Report
We wonder what Kim Jong-un will have to say about this. Former basketball superstar — not to mention former Mr. Carmen Electra — Dennis Rodman has reportedly checked into rehab for alcohol addiction.
TMZ is reporting that 52-year-old Dennis — known as The Worm in his NBA playing days — checked into a treatment center this week in New Jersey. He will reportedly stay at the facility for 30 days.
This is not D-Rod's first trip to rehab. He checked into a treatment center in Florida in 2008 and appeared on Celebrity Rehab in 2009 before relapsing just prior to the show hitting the air.
The always-unpredictable Dennis has been in the news lately for his apparently close friendship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Dennis traveled to North Korea recently to play basketball and was interviewed earlier this month about the trip on CNN, where he erupted in an on-air tirade. Dennis later blamed the outburst on alcohol.
Dennis has had numerous brushes with the law. He has been arrested multiple times, including for drunk driving in 1999 and 2004, for domestic violence in 1999 and 2003, and for spousal battery in 2008. Whew.
He is a member of the NBA Hall of Fame, having earned five championships, including three with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Dennis — who dated Madonna and was briefly married to Carmen Electra — has since appeared on Celebrity Apprentice and was the grand-prize winner of Celebrity Mole.
We're hoping he can rebound from this latest setback. (Get it — "rebound"? Because he was known for getting rebounds in the NBA?)
