It's been a good week for Derek Hough! Not only was it confirmed that the ballroom pro is returning to Dancing With the Stars for Season 19, but he's also scored a guest starring gig on ABC's country music drama Nashville.

People reported the news, saying that Derek will be appearing on Nashville's third season for a multi-episode arc. And no, he's not playing himself. It looks like he's gonna give sis Julianne Hough a run for her money in the acting department!

Apparently Derek will play a character named Noah West, a movie star who'll connect with some of the Nashville regulars because he's playing the lead in a biopic about a famous country singer. We wonder if it will be a real singer, or a fictional one. Could it possibly even be a biopic of one of the older Nashville characters? That would be interesting...

Derek's character is said to be "beguiling and charming," and we have a sneaking suspicion he'll probably wind up being a romantic interest for at least one of Nashville's lovely ladies (or men, for that matter — let's not forget about Will!). After all, what new music city characterdoesn't end up locking lips with someone?
