The magazine’s cover this week features a scantily-clad Kim walking down the beach in a white string bikini and while she seems to smile for the camera, Kim tells E! News that she was totally unprepared for the impromptu “photoshoot.”
“We were in Miami for [Kanye West’s] tour and my friends and I had a morning off and we’re like, ‘Let’s go to the beach,’” Kim told E! News. “We got to the beach, we turn around and we see all this paparazzi. I was like, ‘Nope, we’re not going to the beach.’ We walked in and I was like, ‘I don’t think I’m ready yet, I don’t want to be seen… I’m not bikini-ready yet!”
While it’s a little hard to believe that paparazzi-conscious Kim thought she could casually hang out at the beach in a tiny string bikini without being mobbed by photographers, the end result turned out just fine — at least by our standards.
“So I saw one photo,” Kim said. “It was OK. I think I still have about 10 pounds to go.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star seems a little hard on herself, but Kim is determined to get back to her pre-baby weight through diet changes and exercise.
“I mean, as you get older and your body changes, you just can’t eat the way you used to,” Kim explained. “So I’m training myself and I work out. You know, I love pilates, I love running. Now that we’re on the road, just any gym in any hotel, I just go for it.”
It’s exactly because of those long, treacherous hours on the treadmill that Kim finds the rumors of her weight loss surgery so infuriating.
“I was not a dieter that ever committed before… I always worked out, but it was a challenge for me,” she said. “And so because I stuck through with it, I was so proud of myself for doing that, that it really upset me when people would always try and make it into something else of why I lost the weight.”
