Justin Bieber Desecrates Argentina’s Flag, Apologizes to Fans

We really need Justin Bieber to stop committing crimes abroad.

According to E! Online, when fans threw two national flags on stage at Justin’s November 9 concert in Argentina, Justin used his feet and his mic stand to get them off the stage — which is a huge no no. In Argentina, disrespecting the flag can result in 1-4 years in prison.

But Justin’s story is that he thought they were bras and t-shirts thrown on stage, since, you know, that’s what usually gets thrown at him while he’s performing. So it was a total misunderstanding.

Okay, this one is a little more forgivable than, say, outright and deliberate vandalism, but it sounds like his usually diehard fans were pretty offended. Which is why Justin offered up a novelization of an apology on Twitter on November 13:

“Heard about what is going on with me down in Argentina and I'm shocked. I love Argentina and have had some of the best shows of my tour there. People throw stuff on my stage all show and I get it to the stage hands to get off so no one got hurt. That video I saw a bra and thought it was a shirt. I'm being told by my team it was a shirt but even if it was a flag I would never do anything to disrespect Argentina or the people of Argentina or the fans. I'm so sorry for anyone who took my actions the wrong way and I hope you can forgive this mistake. So once again to the people of Argentina, I'm sorry if that was taken the wrong way and I'm sorry for my mistake. I hope u can accept this. And I loved my time there performing for you and look forward to coming back. I gave my all and I know the fans did there too. Te amo. I would never do anything to disrespect my fans. I don't like having to defend myself but this time it was needed as I mean no disrespect.”

We understand how the decidedly #unswaggy mistake was made, and it was pretty solid of him to offer up an apology, even if it took him approximately 50,000 tweets to get the words out in 140 character increments.

And being that we’re pretty sure Justin would get his butt kicked in prison, we hope he takes his fans’ feelings to heart and maybe cleans up his act a little.
